Small owl with small ear tufts. Stocky neck. Plumage mottled gray, black, and white. Light eyes.

Cool Facts:

Western Screech-Owls don’t actually screech, but rather call with a short series of hoots. Screeching is a better description for the call of the Eastern Screech-Owl, whose gray morph looks identical to a Western Screech-Owl.
