Identification:
Male has a reddish-brown body and head. Male and female both have a vibrant blue wing patch and long, dark bills.
Distribution:
Found in western North America to southern Canada in summer and Mexico in winter. Also a year-round resident of southwestern South America.
Cool Facts:
The Cinnamon Teal is the only duck with two different breeding populations: one in North America, and one in South America.
Female Cinnamon Teals may hide their nests under vegetation, and access them via tunnels.
