Blue/gray back and white front. Yellow throat and black face, with white eyebrow and crescent behind cheek. Black streaks on side.

Compared to some of the migratory superstars in the warbler family, the Yellow-Throated Warbler is relatively sedentary, breeding barely far enough north to reach the great lakes and remaining a year-round resident in the southern US.
