Cool Facts:
Apart from a spotted throat, the Northern Waterthrush can be difficult to distinguish visually from its southern relative. Its song starts with flatter notes, like its preferred marshes, compared to the descending notes of the Louisiana Waterthrush, which prefers hilly streams.
