Cool Facts:
Though the full Snail Kite population is stable, loss of their Everglades marshes and apple snail food source has driven the Florida population onto the endangered species list. The ongoing invasion of an exotic apple snail could spell even more trouble for these kites, or could provide a helpful new food source.
