Identification:
Male has a rusty red head and a buffy forehead, with a black rump/tail. Female has a similar brown mask.
Distribution:
Common throughout Europe and Asia, but only an occasional visitor to North America, mostly along the Pacific and Atlantic coasts.
Cool Facts:
Eurasian Wigeons have not been recorded breeding in North America yet, but their fairly regular visitation suggests this is either already occurring, or may begin in the future.
