Identification:
Light adult is dark gray/brown above and light below, with some rufous on collar. Dark morph is all dark.

The Short-Tailed Hawk is a tropical species that ventures as far north as Florida. Like many hawks, this species can be found as a light morph (pictured) or completely dark morph.
